Being comfortable at the gym
Being new to a gym can be intimidating to some folks. If this describes you, it might be helpful to review a gym’s policies page about safety and etiquette. Many gyms, such as Planet Fitness, discourage intimidating behavior. This can include “showcasing,” which Planet Fitness describes as “flexing, strutting or making an effort to attract attention.”
But remember, you have as much of a right to be at the gym as anyone else. And if you need more motivation for getting in shape, remember that fitness and eating right may be some of the best things you can do for your health. According to the Mayo Clinic, physical activity can reduce your risk of chronic disease, improve your balance and coordination, help you lose weight and boost your self esteem.
And now, on to our fun fitness guide!
