This holiday season will be merry and bright with the return of the NYC Winter Lantern Festival! It’s coming back to Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden next month.
The NYC lantern festival’s theme this year is Escape. It features a breathtaking 8-acre light installation with brilliant displays of flowers, an open sky, and deep-sea adventures. The experience is designed to bring the visitor into a world of color and wonder while leaving behind stress and worry.
The festival runs Oct. 29-Jan. 9, 2022, Friday-Sunday, 4:30-9:30pm. At the peak of the holiday season, the NYC lantern festival will be open every night from Dec. 24-Jan. 2, 2022.
The NYC Winter Lantern Festival first premiered at Snug Harbor, located at 1000 Richmond Terrace, in 2018, followed by another successful run in 2019. However, last year’s festival was cancelled due to the pandemic. But Snug Harbor staff members are looking forward to hosting it again.
