The name says it all on this one. Head to one of Staten Island’s most historic and spooky landmarks for extra scary Halloween thrills that will have you looking for the fastest way out. It is recommended for ages 13 and older and younger than 13 with a parent or guardian.

All ages are permitted, though the venue does not recommend the Kornfield of Karnage or Timmery Manor attractions for kids younger than 10.

When it comes to haunted houses in Staten Island and New Jersey, this one’s a classic. It’s a popular event that’s fun for all ages, but parents should use their discretion when bringing younger children and toddlers. Daytime is more family-friendly and considered appropriate for kids, though there are no age restrictions for attending the event at any time of day. Night-time activities include the ghoul parade (a fan favorite), live stage shows, terrifying scare zones, plus six haunted houses designed for ultimate scare and Halloween.

Ok…just seeing the pictures online will make you want to put your phone down and just run. There are all different terrifying attractions here. You’ll experience haunted houses, immersive escape rooms, and a lot more. There’s a whole storyline to it, too, that centers around a decaying industrial complex. There’s no age restriction, but children who attend can’t be carried and must walk on their own. (No refunds if you don’t make it through the attractions.)
13th Hour Haunted House

Experience three haunted houses and haunted hatchets where you’ll get to throw hatchets at the site’s custom targets. The lights go off for glow-in-the-dark hatches and targets. AGE REQUIREMENT: For the Haunted Hatches, participants must be 13 years or older. Children younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult. For all other attractions, children younger than 13 must be with an adult.
Farm of Horrors

Ok, this one is super intense. If you dare to try all four attractions you will find yourself in a hayride of horror, a trail of terror, a massacre maze and “carnEVIL” of chaos! Parental discretion is advised. They do not recommend Farm of Horrors for children under 13, though parents or guardians are allowed to assess their child’s limits.

Norz Hill Farm & Market turns into a place of madness and mayhem as you experience 4 horror-filled attractions: Madderbaby Lane, Atrum Manor, The Slayride, and Chaotica. The farm is recommended for adults and teens, but younger kids may come if parents think it’s appropriate for them. As the website states, “A 10-year-old may have a blast, but a 40-year-old may end up crying.” Just keep in mind that carrying babies through is not permitted and children younger than 13 must be accompanied by an adult. (Preferably one who won’t cry).

You don’t get out of your car, but you’ll still experience some scary stuff. You’ll encounter twisted creatures and menacing characters as you ride through theatrical displays of Halloween hauntings.

Most trips through wooded areas at night are super scary, and this one is no exception. Prepare yourself for a hayride through the woods that includes a cemetery of the walking dead. Then, you’ll venture through the haunted house where even more scares come to haunt you. The event is designed for the whole family, but the haunted house attraction is not recommended for kids younger than 8. Kids younger than 15 must be accompanied by an adult at all attractions.
